Recently the Lord has been dealing with me about judging others and hypocrisy. What does that mean for a believer and do they go hand in hand?
Sometimes I think the person who judges another finds themselves in hypocrisy because they cannot be perfect. God's word tells us to "judge not lest you be judged."(Matthew 7:1) I've not been doing a good job of not judging others lately and sadly find myself in a state of hypocrisy.
Matthew23:27 also tells us about Jesus basically just laying the smack down on the Pharisees for being hypocrites. He calls them whitewashed walls. I don't want to be a whitewashed wall, that tries to hide all my flaws like they don't exist. I want to be washed clean by the only One who can make me as white as snow, Jesus Christ and His mercy and grace.
Father, help me to rely on you to point out my transgressions. Help me to remember if I am pointing out someone else's mistakes I have made my own and plenty of them. Help me to remember to run to you in repentance so that I may be restored. Father, help me to love others (with your love) who are straying from your truth or stepping into things that are not of you. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Father, give us Your grace and compassion to see others through the beauty of Your Son - just as You look at us. When we are tempted to irritation and grumbling, remind us of Your longsuffering with us. How then can we be proud when we know from what You have delivered us?
