Studying Jeremiah & Prayer

Today I had the privilege of hearing a message by Dr. Waylon Moore. He spoke to a group of us at work today. He gave us three things we can take away about the Word from the book of Jeremiah.

1) The Word is food for us - Jeremiah 15:16
We have to eat the Word. When we eat it, it becomes part of us and it then has feet to be put into action
2) The Word is like a fire - Jeremiah 20:9
Can we say like Jeremiah that it is like a fire in us and can't be contained? Do we have to tell others about it?
3) The Word is like a hammer/chisel - Jeremiah 23:29
Does the Word hurt sometimes? Yes. Why? Because Christ is making us into His perfect creation.

He also talked about prayer and gave a cool illustration of what believing God, asking Him and praising Him are like in reference to a car engine. It's amazing that if we have faith we can claim those things that we are praying for and praise Him in advance for them.
